Privacy Policy
Updated: [9], 2025
Effective: [9], 2025
Welcome to “eTranslater” (hereinafter referred to as “the App”). This App is an intelligent translation tool integrating text, voice, and image translation. We fully understand the importance of your personal information and solemnly commit to protecting its security and controllability in accordance with applicable laws and regulations through measures such as encrypted transmission and access control.
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, protect, and process your information (especially personal information) when you download, install, or use the App through the Apple App Store, and also describes your rights to access, delete, or withdraw your consent. Please read this policy carefully before using the App, especially the clauses highlighted in bold regarding the scope of data processing and third-party sharing rules. By using the App, you acknowledge that you have fully understood and agreed to the handling of your information as described herein. If you do not agree with any part of this Policy, please stop using and uninstall the App immediately.
To enable the core translation functions and related services of the App, we process your information in a lawful, fair, and necessary manner with your authorization.
Translation Content:
When you use text translation, voice translation, photo translation, image translation, or simultaneous interpretation functions, the text you input, the voice you record via the microphone, and the images you capture (including text contained therein) will be processed. These data are essential for providing translation services and are generally processed locally on your device. If online translation is required, the data will be encrypted and transmitted to our servers or third-party AI service providers for processing. Once processing is completed, the raw data will be deleted or anonymized immediately and not stored long-term.
Device Identifiers and Basic Information:
To ensure stable service operation, troubleshoot crashes, and optimize device compatibility, we may collect your device model, OS version, unique device identifier (IDFV only), app installation status (to confirm normal operation), and network type. These data cannot directly identify you and are used solely for technical maintenance and analysis.
Usage Logs:
To improve user experience, we may record anonymized statistics such as function usage type, frequency, page duration, and crash logs. These logs contain no personal identifiers and are used only for feature optimization and bug fixing.
To provide complete services, the App may request the following system permissions. You may manage or revoke them anytime in your device’s Settings > Privacy & Security > eTranslater. Revoking authorization will not affect basic text translation but may disable specific features.
Microphone: Enables voice translation and simultaneous interpretation. Denying access will disable voice input features.
Camera: Enables photo and OCR translation. Denying access will disable in-app camera capture but you can still use gallery photos.
Photo Library: Enables translation of images you select from your gallery. Denying access disables gallery import but you can still use live camera capture.
Network: Enables online translation, offline data updates, and subscription verification. Denying access restricts the App to offline translation only.
Location (Bluetooth-related): Some Bluetooth-based simultaneous interpretation functions require location permission to improve connection stability and latency. This is optional and not required for basic use.
In accordance with the Personal Information Protection Law of the People’s Republic of China and other applicable laws, all collected personal information (such as encrypted translation data or device information) will be stored within mainland China and will not be transmitted across borders.
We retain personal information only for as long as necessary to achieve the purposes stated in this Policy, unless otherwise required by law.
Translation Content: Deleted or anonymized immediately after processing. Offline data remain until you delete or uninstall the App.
Legally Required Records: Retained for the statutory period, then anonymized or deleted.
We adopt industry-standard technical and administrative measures to safeguard your information against unauthorized access, use, or disclosure:
Technical Measures: Translation records and offline packages are encrypted with iOS system keys. Data transmitted to third parties is protected via SSL encryption.
Administrative Measures: Regular privacy training for staff; strict data security audits and confidentiality agreements for third-party partners.
Risk Notice: Despite our efforts, the Internet is not entirely secure. Factors such as malicious attacks or device compromise may pose risks beyond our control. We recommend regularly updating your system, setting strong passwords, and avoiding device sharing.
We strictly limit the sharing and transfer of your information and will never sell or trade your personal data. Information may only be shared under the following circumstances:
Third-Party Service Providers:
To provide translation functions, encrypted translation data may be shared with cooperating third-party technical service providers. See Appendix: Third-Party SDK List for details.
Legal and Regulatory Requirements:
We may disclose your information when required by law, court orders, or competent government authorities, or in emergency situations to protect public interests or users’ safety.
Except as stated above, we will not sell, transfer, or publicly disclose your personal information without your explicit consent.
You have the right to control, access, correct, and delete your personal data.
(1) Permission Control:
You can disable eTranslater’s access to the microphone, camera, photo library, or location at any time via Settings. Once revoked, we will no longer collect such data, but prior processing remains lawful.
(2) Data Deletion:
Local Data: Uninstalling the App deletes all stored translation history and offline packages irreversibly.
Server Data: For information already transmitted to the server, you may email us as described in Section 7 “Contact Us.” We will verify your identity and process the request within 15 working days.
(3) Data Access and Correction:
You can view system information under “Settings – About.” If you identify any incorrect data (e.g., OS version errors), please contact us for correction assistance.
We attach great importance to the protection of minors’ personal information:
If you are under 18, please read this Policy under the supervision of your guardian and use the App only with their consent.
We do not knowingly collect minors’ information. If discovered, we will delete such data within 7 working days upon verification.
Guardians may request data deletion by emailing us and providing proof of identity, relationship, and the device used. We will respond within 15 working days.
We may revise this Policy based on business, legal, or technical changes.
Updated versions will be published under “Settings – About – Privacy Policy” with the new “Update Date.”
If the changes significantly affect your rights, we will notify you via in-app notifications or email.
By continuing to use the App after such updates, you agree to the revised Policy. If you disagree, please stop using the App immediately.
If you have any questions, comments, or suggestions about this Privacy Policy or wish to exercise your rights, please contact us at:

When contacting us, please include:
a. Your device model, system version, and App version;
b. A detailed description of your request;

Response Time: We will review your request promptly and respond within 15 working days upon identity verification. Complex cases may take up to 30 working days, and we will notify you of the progress.
Any disputes arising from or related to this Policy shall first be resolved through friendly negotiation (via the contact email above). If negotiation fails, either party may submit the dispute to a competent People’s Court in the defendant’s jurisdiction. This Policy is governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the People’s Republic of China (excluding conflict-of-law principles).
